On September 22nd, we got to meet our newest addition to our family, Thomas. I barely remember taking these photos of him in the hospital, but I'm so glad I did. Such a sweet time in life getting to meet your child for the first time. We are blessed!
There is something special about watching your friends become parents. A few weeks ago I photographed my dear friends' and their sweet new baby boy, Oliver. One of my favorite nurseries I've seen yet. I love when a nursery feels like an extension of the home and parents and not just a separate pink or blue box. Each piece of furniture and art in the nursery is full of charm and family sentiment, creating a warm and inviting place for baby Alex to learn about his family as he grows up. I loved shooting Alex in his new room and capturing sweet moments of him with his parents. I hope you enjoy!
I have been shooting a lot of newborn sessions lately and I am loving the sweetness and the detail that come with these types of portraits. Newborns allow me to take my time and focus on those precious details with my macro lens and really capture the wonderful emotions that come with a new life. However, we always have a few good outtakes between capturing the photos that make your heart swoon, because lets be honest, newborns can definitely be a challenge! But when the mom and I finally get the baby back to sleep and the stars aline, a little piece of heaven is captured and it is so rewarding. It is always such an honor to be the first professional to capture the little one's portraits and my hope is that my photographs will be treasured for years to come. I have loved watching my newborn clients grow up over the years and I look forward to taking this little girl's photos throughout the first year of her life. One of the best parts of my job is getting to watch families grow and welcome a new addition into their lives and more importantly their hearts.
