TRAVEL

New York City Skyline | Personal

It only took me six trips to the big apple to finally see it from above.  Watching the city change colors from the Empire State Building was totally worth surviving the tourist trap.  I highly recommend doing this (if you haven't already) next time you are in the city.  Just be sure to get the fast pass so you don't have to wait in any lines and miss the sunset :)

Brooklyn Bridge | Personal

During our quick trip to New York City two weekends ago, we did a ton of sightseeing by foot and by bike. We rented the Citi Bikes in Williamsburg and biked all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. After a few hills, and realizing that we are not in speed biking shape, we decided that we would just leave the bikes at the bridge hub and walk the bridge. At this point of the trip, our feet were killing us, but we mustered up some strength to walk the 1.2 mile bridge.  It was a gorgeous day and it was so fun to see so many people out and about walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan. I am so thankful that we ended our trip this way. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to the city and take in the beauty of the skyline and bridge architecture. Below are a few frames I snapped along the walk. Hope you enjoy!

Central Park, New York City | Carly + Garrett

Our trip to New York City this past weekend was such a dream! Being in the city at the start of fall was beyond perfect.  Saturday morning I met up with a friend from high school, Carly, and shot some photos of her and her cute boyfriend in Central Park.  It was so great getting to catch up and hear about how her life was going in New York.  Carly is a go-getter and has accomplished so much in her life so far that it just makes me so proud!  I also loved meeting her sweet boyfriend and documenting a little bit of their life together in the Upper East Side.  Hope you enjoy!

Oceans + Waves Collab | Jenn Gietzen Write On! Designs

I am so excited to announce my collaboration with Jenn Gietzen of Write on Designs! You may remember her from when I photographed her last market item back in February.  She is such a talented artist and a joy to work with.  When Jenn told me about this new market idea that she had for 2014, I knew that I wanted to be apart in collaborating with her.  Each month, she creates a limited edition, hand lettered product and sells them in her shop.  This month, our mutual love of Hillsong's song "Oceans" and traveling to the sea lead us to develop the concept of her hand lettering some of the lyrics onto one of my photos of the ocean.  I could not be more proud of the result, and I am so excited to have it hanging in my home, along with some of my other favorite photos from my travels to the coast.  I loved every step of the process, from concept development, shopping around for materials, framing, designing a wall collage, and reflecting through the questions that she asked me.  Thank you, Jenn for letting me collaborate with you in your March market item! You can buy the collaboration piece here and the rest of the sea collection prints can be purchased here.

You too can have this beautiful wall collage hanging in your home! Collab for purchase here, other collections prints sold here, and frames sold here.
